Talk to Your CRM Like a Person

Connect Claude to your CRM and ask it anything in plain English. Pull contact histories, find stale deals, draft follow-ups, and tidy your pipeline without clicking through screens.

Purpose

Your CRM holds everything: every lead, every conversation, every deal. And you probably use about half of it, because getting anything out means clicking through screen after screen. This SOP shows you how to talk to your CRM in plain English through Claude. You ask a question, Claude goes and gets the answer from your data.

Prerequisites

  • A Claude Project (any project with your CRM connector enabled)
  • Your CRM connector active (GoHighLevel, HubSpot, etc.)

IMPORTANT

Claude can read and act on your contacts, pipeline, conversations, tags, and tasks. It cannot build or edit your funnel pages, workflows, or forms inside GoHighLevel. That is a GHL limitation, not a Claude one.

01

Connect your CRM

Open the connectors panel in your Claude project and connect your CRM. For GoHighLevel, make sure you select the correct sub-account if you have more than one.

Once connected, test it by asking a simple question like "How many contacts do I have?" If it returns a number, the connection is live.

02

Look up a contact

Ask Claude about any specific contact by name. It will pull their full record, including form submissions, notes, tags, and conversation history.

Prompt Who is [Contact Name], and give me our whole history in a short summary.

Claude reads across the contact record and summarises the relationship: when they came in, what they asked about, where the conversation left off, and any tags or notes attached.

03

Check your pipeline

Instead of clicking through pipeline views in your CRM, ask Claude to surface what needs attention.

Prompt Which deals in my pipeline have gone quiet, and who have I not followed up with in the last two weeks?

Claude reads across your pipeline stages and tells you exactly who is slipping through the cracks, with dates and context.

04

Draft a follow-up

Point Claude at a specific contact and ask it to draft a follow-up based on your actual conversation history with them.

Prompt Read my last few messages with [Contact Name] and draft a warm follow-up in my voice. Do not send it, just show me.

Claude reads the real conversation thread and writes the follow-up to match the tone and context of what you have already discussed. It does not send anything. It hands you the draft.

WARNING

Use a test contact while you are finding your feet. Keep everything to reading and drafting only, so you are never messaging a real client by accident through the CRM connector.

05

Tidy and tag

Claude can also handle small admin tasks that quietly pile up: tagging leads, creating follow-up tasks, updating stages.

Prompt Tag these new leads as [tag name], and make me a task to follow up with [Contact Name] on Friday.

These are the small actions you keep meaning to do and never get around to. Saying them out loud is faster than clicking through the CRM interface.

06

Check new leads

Get a quick summary of new lead activity without opening your CRM at all.

Prompt How many new leads came in this week, and where did they come from? Just give me the number and main source.

Claude counts the new contacts from the past seven days and tells you which source (form, ad, referral) brought the most.

All Prompts (Copy and Customise)

Each prompt below is a standalone question you can ask in any chat with your CRM connector active. Replace the bracketed placeholders with real names, tags, and dates.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Claude build automations or edit my funnels in GHL?

No. Claude can read and act on your contacts, pipeline, conversations, tags, and tasks. The funnel pages, automations, and forms stay inside GHL's own builder. That boundary is a GHL limitation.

Will Claude send messages without my approval?

Every action waits for your okay. When you ask Claude to draft a follow-up, it shows you the draft. It does not send until you explicitly tell it to (and it is best practice to copy the draft and send from your CRM directly).

Does this work with CRMs other than GoHighLevel?

Yes, any CRM that has a Claude connector. The prompts are CRM-agnostic. The specific data points available (pipeline stages, conversation threads, tags) depend on what your CRM exposes through its connector.

What should I test first?

Start with a read-only action: look up a contact you know well and check that Claude pulls the correct record. Once you are confident the data is right, move to drafting follow-ups and tagging.
